Clare Carlier – Head of Health Care & Independence Services
Clare is a Registered Occupational Therapist (OT) with over 15 years’ experience. Working in various settings including NHS; Social Care & Health (Social Services), Housing, Private Sector Employers and the Welfare to Work sector.
Clare also has experience in Vocational Rehabilitation, Social Services and Discharge Planning with Hospitals. Having a variety of skills in her portfolio with the NHS and Local Authorities she has excellent skills in Risk assessment/goal setting & case management.
With a growing, private portfolio which includes scoping and consultancy for large private dementia specialist and expressive mental health nursing home groups and supporting organisations to develop health related services for welfare to work contracts, Clare’s skills and networks are extensive. Additional areas of consultancy, assessment, advice and scoping work includes:
- local PCN (Primary Care Networks) and GP surgeries
- adult and children with complex, long term conditions and disability
- disabled, adaptive design in the home and workplace
- individuals who are furthest from the job market
Clare has delivered services to companies contracted by the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) to conduct disability functional assessments. Clare’s role was two-fold, she spent time as a Disability Assessor (DA) to fully understand the processes and procedures and then delivered Clinical Trainer (CT) working around the Midlands. As part of this work she delivered the Disability Assessor Foundation Programme to other health professionals such as: Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, General/Mental Health Nurses and Paramedics attaining a high level of positive outcomes.
