Ian has been working in organisational, economic and people development for over 30 years through running his own business interests, along with strategic director roles in organisations contracting with public and private sector clients.

His background evolved from project management, diagnostic assessments, training and quality procedures in engineering, in the 1980’s to the hospitality, leisure, sport and service industry, nationally and internationally, in the 1990’s. Through wider contracted development work he was appointed into the position as the Business Development Director within an economic development company. Subsequently, by 2007-8 the company had become the largest contractor and deliverer of enterprise, diagnostic assessment and support in the UK West Midlands, winning awards for embedding an innovative enterprise culture, transformational diagnostic assessment processes and the highest levels of contractual outcomes.

Ian has delivered contracts for organisations and government departments through economic development, diagnostic assessment, welfare to work, training & development, enterprise processes, products, services, projects and procedures on a national and international basis with individual contract values exceeding £20M per annum.

He has also delivered additional consultancy services for International clients and Governments, and with UK government through DBIS, DFES, DTI, DBERR, MOJ and Local Authorities. Further contracted delivery includes private sector support to SME and corporate clients. This work involves thematic reviews, process management, education & qualification development, business planning, cost estimation, financial leverage and process planning.
