Matt Dooley – Chief Operating Officer

Matt has overseen 75,000+ Business Start-ups in his 13-year career to date and has an in-depth knowledge regarding the self-employment sector and policy. He leads on the DWP funded Restart Scheme, in which Momentic have 2 self-employment contracts and previously led numerous New Enterprise Allowance (NEA) contracts and a range of ERDF/DfE/ESF contracts for a Prime provider, being the No 1 performer on every metric.

Matt is often consulted by Government Departments and has consulted directly with DWP, ESFA, MoJ, DCLG, GMCA, BIS, DfE, Scottish Government, Treasury, Cabinet Office and No 10, as well as all the leading Think Tanks. Matt is regularly invited to speaking events, panels and select committees to discuss the future of self-employment. This is due to his understanding of the Micro and SME sector, detailed knowledge around key polices e.g. Universal Credit and unprecedented knowledge and track record in successfully helping small business start-up and grow, he is seen as a champion for the sector.

Matt has an in-depth knowledge regarding the self-employment sector, enterprise policy and strategy and continues to design bespoke and unique mentoring and enterprise provisions for a range of funders. He has also successfully led on mergers and acquisitions, led Business ventures into new countries and excelled in winning and mobilising Employability contracts, most notably NEA, Fair StartScotland and Restart. An entrepreneur from age 17, Matt has run numerous businesses of this own, including Retail, Property, Marketing and Consultancy.
