Shadi – Artist

After relocating to the UK, Shadi was referred to the Restart Programme with Ingeus Birmingham, where her adviser quickly recognised the potential in her goal to become self-employed. With a strong passion for fine art, Shadi set her sights on building a business selling her work both online and through exhibitions and galleries.

She was referred to Momentic for specialist start-up support and began working closely with her Business Adviser, Tim, to develop her idea into a structured and sustainable business.

Through a detailed assessment and planning process, Shadi built a full business plan and financial forecast, identifying the need for start-up funding to support a website and transport. With guidance, she successfully applied for a Start Up Loan and secured the funding needed to launch her business.

From there, everything came together — Shadi registered with HMRC, put her insurance in place, purchased essential equipment, and officially launched her art business.

Since then, her business has gone from strength to strength. She is now represented by galleries including Saatchi in the UK and UGallery in the US, sharing her work with an international audience and building a future based on her passion.

Reflecting on her journey, Shadi shared:

“Starting this business has empowered me with independence. I have such a passion for art and have worked diligently to launch my business in the UK, especially since I’ve only been learning English since I arrived. Being able to make a living through my art ensures I lead a happy life.”

She added:

“Tim from Momentic helped me professionally plan and develop a business strategy, enabling me to raise capital for my launch. I could never have done this without him. The support from Restart and Momentic has been invaluable.”

✨ Shadi’s journey is a powerful reminder of what can happen when talent, determination, and the right support come together — turning passion into a thriving, sustainable business.
