Vanessa Cowpland – Massage and Rejuvenation
I was made redundant from my role in marketing after our company adopted AI. As a copywriter, my job was one of the first to go, and I found it incredibly difficult to secure another position that could support my family.
What really appealed to me about starting my own business was having more flexibility, being my own boss, and not living in constant fear of redundancy. A service based skill feels much more secure at least for now, as it’s less likely to be replaced by AI anytime soon.
Emma, my business advisor at Momentic was a huge support throughout my journey. Her guidance on sales and networking was absolutely invaluable, these were areas I had no prior experience in, but they were essential for getting my business off the ground.
Honestly, I wouldn’t change a thing about the support and guidance I received from Momentic, it was exactly what I needed. I was genuinely impressed by how friendly and welcoming everyone was. I wasn’t sure what to expect from a government led programme, something grey and gloomy came to mind but the experience was actually much more “butterflies and rainbows” than I imagined.
Emma at Momentic was incredibly supportive. She offered practical advice and ideas that helped me grow my business. More importantly, she gave me the confidence to tackle the sales side of things, which had always intimidated me.
The workshops were packed with useful information, I even attended some of them more than once. Everyone involved was knowledgeable, approachable, and truly wanted to help.
